The following emotional health and wellbeing training sessions are being offered in July and August 2021, by Beam. All sessions take place on MS Teams, and are open to parents, carers and professionals who are interested in attending. Please feel free to share and/or signpost to others who may be interested.

Mental Health & Emotional well-being in children & young people
Wednesday 7 July 2021, 12.00noon – 1.30pm
This session will cover effective communication, empathy versus sympathy and an overview of common emotional well-being topics such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation and anger.

Sleepy Heads: 2 session workshop around sleep & common issues
It is advisable to attend both sessions.
Session 1:
Wednesday 21 July 2021, 12pm-1.30pm
This session will cover sleep stages, sleep hygiene and bedtime routines.

This session will cover tackling common issues around sleep including prolonged night-time awakenings, teen sleep, bedtime refusal and resistance.

Managing anxious behaviours in young people

This session will cover what anxiety is, the science of anxiety and how to support anxiety.
