At St George’s, pupils across all year groups have access to an online reading and comprehension program called Bug Club. This complements our current reading provision. Through this website, pupils are assigned phonetically decodable eBooks which match the sounds that they are learning in school. As the children read the books, they will be asked a series of questions related to the text. This is to ensure that they have understood what is being read.
The children can access their own personalised page on the website using their unique login and password details. The school code will always be sgce.

How to log in to Bug Club
Each child has a unique homepage and log in details. Our school code is: sgce.
In the ‘my library’ tab you will find the books that your child has already read that can be reread if they want to read them again. Please record in your child’s reading record if they read a bug club book instead of a school reading book.
