Early Help Offer
Providing ‘Early Help’ to our children and families at St George’s CofE Primary School means we can be more effective in ensuring children thrive and become successful. Early help means providing support as soon as a problem emerges, at any point in a child’s life, from the Foundation Stage through to Year 6.
We understand that family life can sometimes be difficult and complicated. From time to time there may be situations where you need extra help and support. To support and advise you at such times we have an Early Help Offer. Below details some of the support that we can offer as well as different services we can signpost to:

Early Help Assessment and Support Plans |
An Early Help Assessment is a way of noting down what is going well in your family, what the worries are and what needs to happen to help things improve. Together you will then agree the best way to make this happen; this will be written into a Family Plan. |
Signposting to Beam |
Beam is an emotional health and wellbeing drop-in service for young people under 25 years old who are registered with a GP in Shropshire, Telford or Wrekin.

Signposting and/or referral to PODS (Parents Opening Doors) |
PODs are a parent support group for parents with children with additional needs. They provide advice, someone to talk to and also hold regular workshops.

The Children’s Autism Hub is open to all children and young people aged 0-18, and their families, who have a diagnosis of Autism.

Referral to School Nursing (Healthy Child Programme) |
Referrals can be made around the following concerns: physical, emotional, developmental, maternal low mood, sleep, behaviour, feeding/weaning, accident prevention, sexual health, CSE, diet, weight and communication. |
Referral to PEGS (Parental Education Growth Support) |
PEGS are an organisation specifically founded to support parents, carers and guardians who are experiencing domestic abuse at the hands of their own children.

Referral to BeeU (previously CAMHS) |
School can refer to BeeU if there are high-level concerns around anxiety, or for a diagnosis for Autism or ADHD. |
Referral to Incredible Years |
An evidence-based parenting programme in which parents learn to break negative parent-child interaction cycles. |
Referral to Strengthening Families |
Strengthening Families provide local services for families with children aged 0-19 through children and family centres, in a planned approach to ensure resources are targeted where they are most effective. |
Referral to Prism |
A bereavement support service for parents, children and young people. |
Referral to Young Carers |
Practical and emotional support for children who may be a Young Carer. Young carers may have to deal with a range of illnesses with the person they care for, such as disability, chronic illness, mental health difficulties or problems with drugs or alcohol misuse.

Attendance Support |

Rise and Shine |
A soft start intervention for those children finding it difficult to come into school in the mornings. |
Lunchtime Lounge |
An intervention during lunchtime for those children who need some additional support with either friendships, socialising or emotions. |
