Here at St George’s C of E Primary School, we strive to enable all children to reach their full potential by providing an exciting and well-balanced curriculum. As part of our mathematics and PSHEE offering, we have established a relationship with community cooperative Just Credit Union. As part of this initiative, we are delighted to have launched our own ‘Young Saver Savings Scheme.’
Membership is free to all pupils and there is no minimum deposit. If you would like your child to join and begin saving then contact school and ask to speak to Mr Porteous. We hold a fortnightly ‘Deposit Day’ in the school office area on a Wednesday morning between 8am and 8:30am when the children can deposit their savings.
Once a child’s account has been created, they will receive a Savings Card, which is a record of all the deposits they’ve made and each Young Saver will be given their own unique Credit Union membership number.
When the school is closed for holidays, or when your children have left St George’s, Young Savers can continue making deposits and withdrawals directly with Just Credit Union.
Many local people have already joined the Credit Union and have taken advantage of its services. The collection point at our school will be part of Credit Union Ltd. Parents and other family members can also join as adult members to set money aside for school trips, school uniform, holidays, emergencies and special occasions. If you would like further information, please visit www.justcreditunion.org.uk or call the Just Credit Union’s office on 01743 252 325.
We hope that you will agree to support this exciting new initiative which we believe will be of considerable benefit to our pupils and parents.
