Today, a Road Safety Officer visited our school and, with the assistance of the Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSOs), led an assembly discussing the upcoming Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel event.
The event will take place from March 18th to March 22nd. Each day during the challenge, schools will compete to see which can record the highest number of students walking, using wheelchairs, scooting, or cycling to school. The JRSOs will collect this data and, with Miss Bibi’s assistance, upload it to the Sustrans website.
Schools participating will be entered into a daily prize draw for rewards, including equipment and accessories, if over 15% of their students engage in active travel that day.
We encourage all children to participate in the event and understand the health and well-being benefits of active travel. Please help us by encouraging your child to walk, scoot, or cycle to school during this week.
