We pride ourselves on doing our very best to make sure that our children enjoy school, feel safe, achieve well and thrive at St George’s. We love receiving feedback about how we are successful at this. This page shares some of the lovely comments that have been made about our school by our children, parents and carers as well as external agencies and professionals who work alongside us.

Parents and Carers
‘As my child has progressed through school, it seems that St. George’s has upped its game too.’ (Parent 2024)
‘We couldn’t be happier with our choice of primary school. Thank you for everything you do.’ (Parent 2024)
‘St. George’s school is amazing. Everyone who works there is an asset to the team. So many amazing role models setting a high standard to truly help the children become the best version of themselves.’ (Parent 2024)
‘One child was removed from their last school, but St George’s has taken a personal interest in his children and his son’s class teacher talks to him every day, using the ‘tomorrow is another day’ model. He finished by telling me that ‘it is clear that the school doesn’t only focus on the happiness of the child, but the wellbeing of parents too’.’ (Wellbeing Award for Schools report 2024)
‘When asked if they (parents and carers) would feel comfortable talking about their own emotional wellbeing with staff, they were unanimous in telling me that they would have ‘no hesitation in talking to staff’ and confirmed that they would ‘feel confident talking to absolutely anyone at the school should the need arise’. They went on to tell me that ‘behaviour here is modelled from the top down because all of the staff mimic the same standards because everyone is treated equally here and, because of this, everyone feels cared for and included.’ They added that ‘Mrs Sixsmith is really approachable and cares for us – we feel we can really talk to her and the rest of the staff as and when needed.’ I do not think I have been to many schools that do more for the whole community than St George’s does and I was extremely impressed with the testaments of these parents.’ (Wellbeing Award for Schools report 2024)
‘I would like to just let Mrs Sixsmith and the year 5 teachers know how fantastic the year 5 group were today during the Easter workshop. They behaved in such a lovely respectful manner, and engaged very well during our sessions in the ‘sharing our sorrows ‘corner. They had some amazing answers and listened beautifully while I read the story before asking them questions. It was our first time of volunteering for this at the church as part of the PTFA group and it was an absolute pleasure . They should be very proud as well as the teachers, TAs and parents . Well done St George’s.’ (Parent 2024)
‘On Monday I had the pleasure of attending a Recorder Festival at Telford Theatre. St George’s KS2 were brilliantly represented, along with children from four or five other schools. Not only were our pupils beautifully behaved, but they played their hearts out, and our soloists were blooming brilliant! I was beyond proud, and knew you all would be too so wanted to share. Please can you pass our thanks on to all the teachers and support staff who helped make the event happen – the practise and the logistics alone are no small feat, we know. Also to the parents who supported and who were able to show-up in the audience – we were so well supported! It really was a wonderful team effort. Thank you and well done St George’s!’ (Parent 2024)
‘Just a quick message to let you know how well St George’s children did today at Church. I enjoyed coming to harvest festival today, and then to top it all off I was met outside church after harvest festival by a lady that I don’t know, that was walking past the church from the shop. The lady said the singing coming from church caught her attention so she went and stood down the steps outside the church so she could listen. The lady went on to say that it was lovely to listen to all the children singing, it was beautiful to hear. The lady watched all the children leave and said they all looked so happy eating their Jammie dodgers.
I as a parent felt proud of these children today after speaking with this lady and just thought I would let you know so you can all be even more proud of them! Well done St George’s.’ (Parent 2023)
External Agencies and Professionals
‘The school vision is central to its ethos and everything that the school does relating to wellbeing revolves around that central vision.’ (Wellbeing Award for Schools 2024)
‘The children at St George’s very definitely have a voice and the school is to be commended for all it does to ensure that its young people are listened to and valued. Overall, the evidence suggests that St George’s C of E Primary has gone from strength to strength in all that it does to support the mental health and wellbeing of the whole school community.'(Wellbeing Award for Schools 2024)
‘A strength of the school is the fact that the school really does put the wellbeing and mental health of its whole community at the very heart of its best practice. There is absolutely no doubt that this is a school which is leading the way in the field of wellbeing and mental health.’ (Wellbeing Award for Schools 2024)
‘It is clear that, under your leadership, the profile of science has not just been raised at St George’s, but beyond! I hope that this continues, as it demonstrates
excellent passion and skill in you as a Subject Leads. You should be very proud of the journey you have been on and the difference you have made in your children’s love of science. Well done!’ (Primary Science Quality Mark report 2024)
‘I work across many schools during the week from Stafford down to Redditch, and your school is always a joy to come to. The staff, especially the admin team and his class teacher, have been so welcoming, curious of how best to support him during therapy and supportive of my work. It really helps and allows us to work together as his little team, so that he has the best opportunities to make sense of his past and give him hope for his future.
Whenever I am in the school, I really notice how smiley, welcoming and fun your staff seem – I know this will impact your pupils in the best way. The adults around them see them, notice them and enjoy spending time with them – as a child how empowering is that?! So just a big thank you from me and the lovely feeling I get from your school every time I come visit weekly.’ (Taken from an email received from an independent play therapist 2024)
‘First, a big thank you to you and your entire team of St. George’s for believing that hosting a teacher exchange would be a great way to promote a global educational atmosphere that values a global community rejoicing in different educational contexts and perspectives, and learning from the vast diversity that exists. The senior leader’s dedication and accountability towards your students, teachers, and your institution showers positivity in the milieu and encourages everybody to do their best.
We were very astounded by the fact that all of the staff were using positive language and gestures to communicate with the students. The value-based education that the leadership has endorsed has really reaped well. Our team found that the students were very kind, hardworking, responsible, cherishing diversity, and most importantly happy in their school environment.
Leadership, teamwork, individual responsibility, positive learning environment, value-based learning, hard work and dedication, and shared success are the few captions that our team chose to summarize our learning. It is without a doubt that this Teacher Exchange Program has allowed our Nepalese team to learn the global context of education better and encouraged us to adapt them in our context for the best benefit of the children in Nepal.’ (Nepali teacher exchange teacher 2023)
