Counting in 2’s

This week we have been counting in 2’s! We used numicon to help us and added two blocks on each time. Then we wrote down the numbers we got. Well done Year One! ๐Ÿ’•โญ

Making Fireworks with chalks!๐ŸŽ†๐ŸŽ‡

Today we have been learning about Bonfire night. We looked at the colours and listened to the sounds of different fireworks. We decided to make some of our own fireworks outside using chalks. It was lots of fun!

Making Teddy Bears in 1M!๐Ÿงธ

In History, we have been learning all about new and old toys. This week we have been looking at old and new teddy bears. We talked about the oldest teddy bear and how it got itโ€™s name. We looked at famous teddy bears such as Winnie the Pooh and Pudsey Bear. Then we made our own teddy bear using felt and stuffing and practised our sewing skills by sewing it together.

Making Victorian Toys

In History we have been learning about toys, recently we have looked at Victorian toys. We have seen the types of toys rich Victorian children would play with and the toys that poor Victorian children would play with. Today, we made our own ‘cup and ball’ toy. We designed our cup, attached the string and ball – then we played with them. It was lots of fun!

Painting in Year 1๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ–Œ

We have been painting self-portraits this morning. We used watercolour paints and learnt how use different brush strokes. It was lots of fun!
