Las Posadas 🕯

This week, we have been learning about Las Posadas.🕯 It is a Mexican tradition carried out during the build up to Christmas. 🎄 People get together to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. We have listened to the story and made our own Christmas wish ✨

Italian food tasting! ??❤

This afternoon, we had the opportunity to sample a selection of Italian foods as part of our Geography topic learning all about Italian culture. The children were really excited about tasting new foods and particularly enjoyed the Gelato dessert!

A huge well done to all of the children who participated in last week’s Times Table Rockstar Battle. We were so impressed by the children’s efforts outside of school to participate in our home challenge.

Well done to Mr Perry’s Maths set who were the winners of the battle! 🏆⭐

Homework In Year 4! ☺✍

Homework is vital for children to know more and remember more. ⭐

In Year 4, homework is given to every child on a Friday and we expect it to be returned the following Wednesday at the latest. As well as this, we ask that children read 5 times a week to someone at home alongside their reading in school. All children will be set weekly spellings too which are handed out on a Friday and tested the following Friday.

At St George’s, all children also have a username and password for TimesTable Rockstars and Spelling Shed. These are fantastic resources for children to use at home to support their learning.
