Year 5 Activities

Good morning Year 5,

We are approaching the end of a long term and you have all worked so hard that each and every one of you deserves a nice rest.

As your teachers, we do however know that some of you enjoy learning so much that you’re always asking for extra activities to do at home. Therefore, we will be putting some ideas onto this page over the next few days of things you could try over the 2 weeks holiday.

It’s important to note that these are completely optional, if you choose to have a go – great! If you choose to relax – that’s just as great!

Games Making

Our PE topic this half term is ‘Games Making’. The children are given some specific pieces of equipment, in this case cones, tennis balls, quoits and a skipping rope, and are asked to create a game using this equipment. There are also certain ‘rules’ such as number of players and shape of the playing area which they need to stick to. Some of the games Year 5 children have developed so far have been incredibly competitive and imaginative. We have all enjoyed playing eachother’s new games and we are looking forward to this week’s lesson.

Time to test your ball skills!

Ball games

The weather is looking dry today, if you’ve got a garden and a ball (of any kind), try this challenge!
