Literacy

Thursday 21st January

Today is our reading lesson, last week we looked at inference (looking for clues in the text to help you come to an answer) and today we are going to put these skills into practise again so if you need a little reminder you can always scroll back to last week.

Here are some resources to have a go at, choose the one that you feel most comfortable with or challenge yourself and have a go at both!

Inference Reading Comprehension

Think about yesterday’s lesson on punctuation and have a go at correcting the sentences:

Correct the sentence

Feeling confident? Challenge yourself by choosing one of the sentences from the worksheet and carry on writing, think about what the sentence says so what might happen next? Most importantly don’t forget that punctuation!

Remember to choose one of the reading activities to complete today or read from a book at home.

More fantastic artwork!

It’s been great to see you so inspired by Martin Luther King, here are some more fantastic pieces of artwork from Oliver and Carter.

Punctuation is something that we are constantly working on in year 3 as it is so important! Have a look at the BBC lesson on punctuation that can be found here.

Work through the lesson and have a go at the activities.

If you want a challenge then have a go at producing your own piece of writing using the correct punctuation – it could be anything you like; a story, a letter or even a cartoon strip. You can email your finished work into the year 3 email address for us to check!

Don’t forget your reading – choose one of the guided reading activities to have a go at.
