Wow! We have been blown away this week by our Year 6 children! Their attitude towards their SATS this week has been phenomenal and we are so very proud of each and every one of them! โค Great work, Year 6! You are all super stars! โญโญ

Ancient Egyptian Canopic Jars in Year 6

Our Art topic this term is ‘Pots‘, which links to our Ancient Civilisations topic in History. The children have started by researching the use of canopic jars during the Ancient Egyptian mummification process, which they have found fascinating!

 

 

Blogging in Year 6! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Our computing topic this half term has been ‘Blogging’. The children have planned and developed their own blog page, adding their own posts and interacting with posts created by others. We have been really impressed by their work!

Earth Day in Year 6 ๐ŸŒ

April 22nd was Earth Day. ๐ŸŒ In Year 6, we learned about the importance of looking after our planet and discussed this yearโ€™s theme of, โ€˜ Planet vs Plasticsโ€™. We created posters and wrote pledges of how we will โ€˜invest in our planetโ€™ for the future.

Junior Choir at St George’s Park Nursing Home

Our Junior Choir had a wonderful time performing at the St George’s Park Nursing Home. We were so proud of them – they sang beautifully and performed so well to all of the residents. Well done!

R.E. – Spirituality in Year 6

Our current topic in R.E. is ‘Expressing Spirituality Through the Arts’.ย The children in Year 6 have enjoyed our discussions surrounding spirituality and what this means to themselves and others. This week, they explored how Christians use music to express themselves spiritually, and created artwork to reflect this.

This week, the children in Year 6 have been working very hard on their writing. They have planned, drafted and edited their work; we are so proud of how well they have done!

We are so thrilled with all of the Year 6 children this week for their fantastic efforts with their Mock SATs this week! They have approached their tests with a brilliant attitude; every single one of the children should be very proud of themselves!

St George’s Spelling Bee! ๐Ÿ

Yesterday, we hosted our very first inter-school Spelling Bee! Children from five local schools came to take part in our Spelling Bee; the competition was tough, and all children did incredibly well! All of the children who took part were in Years 3 and 4, and we had a wonderful audience of our St George’s Year 3 children to cheer us on! We are so very proud of our brilliant Spelling Bee team- you did yourselves and St George’s proud! Well done!
