Settings in year 1! 🐻🐻🐻

We are looking at the story Whatever Next! by Jill Murphy. Today we looked at different settings in the story. We drew then added some colour. We wrote a sentence to go with our pictures.

Art Club in year 1!

Today in art club we looked at autumn trees. We drew them and then we went outside to look for autumn leaves. We then did some leaf rubbings using autumn colours.

Computing!

Today in year 1 we have been learning about what technology is. We looked in the classroom and around school. We had to sort the things we thought were technology and which weren’t.

Design Technology in year 1🤩

Well done to everyone today! We looked at stable structures in particular toy car garages. We had to design and build them then test if they worked. We had a lovely time and used a lot of sellotape!

Tigers in year 1

In literacy we are doing an author study. We have been reading The Tiger Who Came To Tea which is written by Judith Kerr. We painted the tiger form the story.

Art 🖌🖌🖌🖌🖌

As part of our art unit this term we have been looking at the work of Wassily Kandinsky and how he uses overlapping and circles in his paintings. We practised our overlapping skills with potato printing.

Computing in 1B

We have been doing coding in computing this week.

We had to make planes take off and make ghosts and skeletons move! 👻✈👻✈

1B at Weston Park!

What a super day we had!

We learnt lots about the vegetables grown and the life cycle of apple trees. We looked at the colours we can find in nature. We also had lots of fun on the adventure playground and we filled our tummies with smores, we had a great day!

We have been historians today in 1B 😊

Today we were historians. Our history topic this term is Houses and Homes. We have been looking at cavemen homes and how they showed stories from their lives on the walls of the caves they lived in. We had a go at using sticks to paint cavemen pictures, we painted animals and hunters, it was tricky but good fun!
