Christmas Jumpers

We have a selection of Christmas jumpers available for children to borrow from age 3 to 12 years. Please email or call the office if you would like to borrow one for your child. 😀

Santa’s Grotto Tickets

If you haven’t yet bought your tickets for this year’s Santa’s Grotto and you’re able to, our PTFA would *love* your support.
The grotto will look superb, Santa is brill, and the gifts and crafts are all fantastic! And all for just £5.50 per child!
Tickets are available until Friday, and half have been sold so far, but the PTFA would love to sell more as every penny of profit will be spent on pupils here at St George’s. The link to buy tickets has been sent to you via email but you can also find it at the bottom of our website’s homepage.
Merry Christmas!

Reverse Advent Calendar

We will be doing our Reverse Advent Calendar again this year to collect food and toiletries for local people in need. The idea is instead of just receiving things (like chocolates out of Advent calendars) we try to give too. If your family would like to donate any items, please drop them into school. All donations will be given to Telford Crisis Support this year. Thank you.

Y6 Arthog Residential

Well…what can we say? We are SO super proud of the children for working so well as a team, helping each other, showing kindness and giving activities a go even if they weren’t keen. Well done Year 6! HUGE thanks to staff who have given up their own time, away from their families, to go on the residential. Your support is very much appreciated!

Las Posadas

Each year we learn about the Mexican tradition of Las Posadas where towns and villages tell the Christmas story whilst travelling around their communities. Families act out the story while singing special songs and lighting candles. They also celebrate by having big parties! We send our Las Posadas boxes around school, which contain special statues of Mary and Joseph. Their journey has started in Y4 this week but they will visit every class before the end of term.

Advent Prayer

Holy God,

The One who comes to us in love and invites us to be your friend.

Through advent we prepare to celebrate

how you came to us in Jesus on the first Christmas day.

Help us to look out for all the hidden ways

you come to us and your world

and draw us close to you.

We pray in the name of Jesus,

whose coming we eagerly await.

Amen.
