British Science Week

This week in nursery the children have had a brilliant time celebrating British Science week, as this years theme is ‘growth’ they have been busy identifying things that grow in the natural world. The children have loved learning about plant growth, discussing the parts of a bulb and what bulbs need to grow. They have had a wonderful time decorating their plant pots and planting their own bulbs to look after. There is much excitement to see what colour flowers their plant will eventually grow!

Chinese New Year celebrations

In nursery we have been busy celebrating The Chinese New Year. We have made decorations, collage lanterns, handprint dragons and masks of either an animal on the Chinese zodiac or the Jade Emperor himself! At snack time the children have been very brave and tried some vegetable spring rolls, even if they thought they would not like them. They have loved learning the story of the ‘great race’ and the animals in the Chinese zodiac by playing matching pairs, using Chinese New Year play dough mats and role playing with their masks.

Office role play

The children have been very busy developing their communication skills in our new office area in nursery, they have loved chatting on the phone while drawing and writing in their notepads.
