Farm animals

Last week in nursery we began to learn about animals, the children had a wonderful time counting eggs, creating a duck pond with number ducks and painting observational pictures of the animals you would may find on a farm. In our role play area the children have healed many poorly pets while working in our veterinary surgery, we have had a very busy week!

Parachute games

This week the children have loved having the parachute out, they worked as a team to raise it into the air from the floor then took it in turns to go underneath or on top, they really enjoyed experiencing all of the different colours while they moved above them. What super team work!

Easter learning

Over the last couple of weeks in nursery the children have loved learning about Easter, we have shared Easter stories and songs, extended our vocabulary using story based matching pairs, learned about wind up toys, counted eggs and created many Easter crafts!

St George’s Day in School (Monday 24th April)

We will be celebrating St George’s Day in school on Monday 24th April. Children are invited to wear red and white clothes if they have any (please do not go out to buy anything especially for the day). If they haven’t got any red or white clothes, they are very welcome to come in any of their own clothes.
Don’t forget that our School Council are also holding their cake sale to raise money for our two charities of the year that day. We will send reminders nearer the time! Thank you.

Monday fitness

Today we went on the running track, when we got there we realised the grass was being cut so we all sat on the bench and watched as the tractor went up and down the field. We had a brilliant time talking about the weather, season of spring and smelling the fresh cut grass before completing some laps with our friends.

Online Safety Information

A huge thank you to the parents that came to our online safety workshop last week.

If you were unable to attend but would still like the information, the slides that we shared are available here.

There is also access to a google drive which has information on games your children may be playing/how to set up devices safety/how to get more information on what they are doing online-you can access this here.

As always, if you have any concerns, please feel free to speak to your child’s class teacher or a member of our Safeguarding team.

Mother’s Day

Last week the children were very busy looking after their planted iris bulbs ready to take home for Mother’s Day, they made cards and flower bouquets to say thank you to their mums for everything they do for them. The children were very proud of their creations and couldn’t wait to take them home!

Big Walk and Wheel Event 2023

Register your school for Sustrans' Big Walk and Wheel today! | Raring2go!

We are taking part in Sustran’s Big Walk and Wheel, the UK’s biggest inter-school walking, wheeling, scooting and cycling to school competition. The event will run all week from 20th-24th March. It is free and we would love everyone to be involved!
On each day of the challenge schools will compete to see who can record the greatest number of pupils walking, using a wheelchair, scooting or cycling to school. The Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSOs) at St Georges will collect this data and with the help of Miss Bibi, will add it to the Sustans website.
Schools will be entered into a daily prize draw for rewards (including equipment and accessories) if over 15% of their pupils walk, use a wheelchair, scoot or cycle on that day of the challenge.
We want all children to join in the fun and to understand the health and wellbeing benefits of active travel. Please help us to encourage your child to walk, scoot or cycle to school this week. Don’t forget to make sure they wear a helmet if they do scoot or cycle.
