We would love to see any activities that you wish to share with us,  please email nurseryteam@stgeorgesschool.org.uk

Stay safe and we hope to see you soon,

The Nursery Team

It’s been an Incy Wincy week in nursery!

Our nursery rhyme this week has been Incy Wincy Spider. We have been singing the nursery rhyme, following the actions and drawing spiders with round bodies and 8 legs. We have done lots of counting to 8! Throughout the week we have made spiders out of salt dough with pipe cleaner legs and chalk pen smiles and eyes.

Argh! Its a Spider!

We also had great fun going on ‘web walks’ around the school grounds to see if we could find any spiders and their webs.

Throughout half term you may want to see if you can find any spiders webs near your home or in your garden, we would love to see your photos in nursery!

Hello Yellow!

For our Mental health mufti day we all loved wearing non-uniform, nursery looked fabulous in yellow! Throughout the day we had lots of fun playing musical statues, making yellow collages and choosing our favourite activities to increase our happiness.

Balancing, jumping and climbing adventures!

Recently in nursery we have been going to the new adventure playground for PE, we have had lots of fun being brave, learning how to jump and balance safely. We also began to negotiate space whilst travelling at speed and considering our nursery friends. Keep up the super effort throughout half term Nursery!

Harvest Festival in Nursery

This week in nursery we have been celebrating harvest festival, for one of our activities we investigated fruit. We cut it in half, looked at it and talked about what we could see and smell. So we didn’t waste our fruit we used it to do some fruit printing, here are our harvest festival fruit printing pictures.

For other activities we have been looking at fruit and vegetables and identifying if they are fruits or vegetables.

Activities to try at home –

try counting fruit and vegetables that you have at home- remember to touch each one as you say the number.

Discussing if things are a fruit or vegetable.

Drawing fruit or vegetables – we would love to see your pictures in nursery!

Tasting fruit and vegetables in different forms- raw, cooked, baked etc.

Baa Baa Black Sheep

Baa Baa Black Sheep – Nursery Rhyme Song with Lyrics in French and in EnglishLast week in nursery we focused on the Nursery rhyme Baa Baa Black Sheep, we learned the song, looked at where wool comes from, how it is made and what we can make from wool. We made our hand print sheep for our learning journey books and for our fabulous display on the wall, it was a little tricky cutting the wool but we all tried our best and made super sheep!
