Dinosaur work

We hope you’re all well. Last week, we welcomed some reception children back to school. It has been lovely to see some familiar faces. For those of you at home, we hope you’re all staying safe.

For the next 2 weeks, both at home and in school, we’d like to take a look at dinosaurs. There are some ideas on the grid above, however feel free to do anything else you want to.

We’ve made the last few books available on Bug club for you to read which will take you up to the summer holidays and there are some activities on Purple Mash.

Telford and Wrekin have launched the above challenge. Have a look at the suggested activities above and see how many of them you can complete during June. Food Bank Update

Update on our Food Bank
 
Thank you so much to everyone who has been able to support us to run the food bank during lock-down. We have been able to support over 25 families each week during this difficult time due to generous donations from individual families, organisations and local businesses. Thank you- we could not have done this without your help!
 
Our plan is to begin to wind down the food bank to finish the week beginning 13th July. Anything food items remaining at school that week will be donated to another local food bank.
 
We will help the families who have been using our food bank by giving them details of more sustainable food banks and organisations that may be able to offer them a range of services they need to help them get back on track.

Good morning

Good morning everyone.

I hope you’re well.

If you’re finding it a bit tricky at the moment to get your child motivated, there are some ideas below for things you are probably all already doing that you don’t realise count as learning.

They are taken from the website Worcester Speech and Language which has lots of hints and tips on ways to help your child if they are finding the current situation difficult.

As always, feel free to email us at receptionteam@stgeorgesschool.org.uk if you need any help/advice or just want to show us what the children have been up to-we’re missing them all a lot.

WE WON!

A few weeks ago, we sent out a request asking for our school’s community to nominate our school to win a Storytelling Chair through ‘The School Playground Company’s’ Facebook page. We are delighted to announce that we WON!

Thank you so much to everyone who nominated us, we saw that some people even put some very complimentary comments alongside our nomination which didn’t go unnoticed. What a week for St George’s C of E Primary School! We are looking forward to our large delivery soon!

Mr Blair and Miss Owen

Here are photos of Mr Blair and Miss Owen who are two of the teachers running Reception pods next week. We realise that your child may not know these staff yet so thought they might like to see a photo before they come in on Monday.

Miss Owen and Mr Blair are both very kind and friendly and can’t wait to meet you all next week! They have lots of exciting activities planned for you to enjoy. 😀

Reception return to school organisation letter

Please see the letter that was sent out to individual parents who have booked a place for their child returning to school on Monday 8th June. The information you need is all in here but we have removed the details regarding which teacher your child has as that was on the letter emailed to you on 3.6.20. This is a general letter for any reception children returning.

Children coming into school

Hi Everyone,

If your child is coming into school, please could you also ensure that your child has clothes that will keep them warm in the classrooms in all weathers. Following guidance, we have to keep the doors and windows open to ventilate rooms and it can be quite cool in some of the rooms, especially in the mornings. We need the beautiful sunshine to come back!
