St George’s Day Celebrations

Don’t forget we are celebrating St George’s Day in school on Monday 24th April. Children can wear non-uniform-red and white clothes would be GREAT but not essential!
The School Council will be holding a cake sale on the day to raise money for our school charities ‘Classroom in the Clouds’ and ‘Prevent All’.
We would really appreciate it if you could donate some homemade or shop bought cakes for the fundraising event please. The theme will be based around St George’s Day but any cakes would be great! Please could all cakes be handed in on the morning of the 24th.
The cakes will be sold throughout the day. If your child would like to buy some, please send them into school with some change. The cakes will cost 30p each or 4 for £1.

Music, word and question of the week

Music of the week: Hushabye Mountain from the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Word of the week: debug. This is a computing word. It is when you fix code with errors so that it runs the way it was designed.

We introduced a question of the week on Monday.

This week’s questions is: If you could be famous for one thing, what would it be?

We would love you to discuss this question with the children at home!

Online Safety Competition Reminder

Don’t forget this competition launched at the end of term by our Safety Guardians (Children’s Safeguarding Board)!
We would like our pupils to enter our competition to design an e-safety (online safety) poster! You can focus on any part of e-safety such as:
• Cyber-bullying such as on WhatsApp, Snapchat, online games, TikTok
• Protecting your own information online
• Talking to strangers online and keeping yourself safe
• Using age-appropriate sites and apps
• The 4 Cs (content, contact, conduct and commerce). This one might be a good one for older children to do some research on!
Your poster can be any size, using any materials (drawing, painting, using a computer) and you can hand in as many entries as you like!
Please make sure you write your name and class on your entry. These need to be handed into your class teacher by Friday 21st April please.
We will pick a winning design for each year group and then the posters will be displayed around school and on our website. Prizes will be given to the winners.
Please enter the competition to help keep us all safe!
