3 Steps to Protect

Please see an important message from DCI Tony Garner from
West Mercia Police:
I am a Detective Chief Inspector with West Mercia Police with the responsibility for tackling fraud and online offending. I am writing to you to ask for your support. Over half of all crime is now online fraud and its growing. It is the most likely crime your students and local community will suffer. It is having a devastating impact on victims and wider society with links to terrorism and organised crime. Unlike most crime there are some simple measures people can take to stop all but the most sophisticated attacks. In collaboration with the University of Worcester we have launched a new campaign called #3StepsToProtect. We want to encourage people to take three simple steps to protect themselves from fraud and online harm.
We recognise that for certain sections of the community, such as the elderly, some might struggle to follow the technical steps they need to take. We want to ask your students to help their grandparents and elderly neighbours follow #3StepsToProtect. Worcester University have helped us create a very short video that sets out what the 3 steps are and encourages younger people to help protect their elderly relatives. By promoting the #3StepsToProtect campaign, we hope to empower young people to play an essential role in safeguarding their loved ones.

Hello Yellow Day Tuesday 10th October

We will be raising the profile of mental health on Tuesday 10th October by holding Hello Yellow Day again in school. Children are invited to wear yellow clothes on the day. If they have a whole yellow outfit, that’s great, but it can simply be that they wear their usual school uniform but add a yellow hair bobble or yellow socks. If your child would prefer not to, they can come to school in their uniform as usual. Please do not go out and buy yellow clothes especially for the day!

There’s no pressure to ‘sign up’ and be an official member of the PTFA- you would still be VERY welcome at the meeting. We’ll even bring biscuits!
Just turn up or you can contact us by emailing: friendsofstgeorgesptfa@gmail.com
All money raised by the PTFA is spent on items/events for the children in school. Thank you for your support.

Contacting School

There are plenty of ways to contact the school should you have a query or message. Please do get in touch if you need to- we don’t ever want parents and carers worrying about anything. We are always happy to help!

  • We encourage parents to email the school office with messages or questions whenever possible so that we can deal with any queries effectively and efficiently. The school admin email address is admin@stgeorgesschool.org.uk
  • You can of course ring the school office if necessary on 01952 387750. Our office is manned from 8am each day.
  • Please only come to the school office if it is urgent or if you need to drop something in.
  • Our senior leaders are on duty every morning. Mrs Sixsmith (head teacher), Mrs Watts (deputy head teacher) or Mrs Foxley (assistant head teacher) can be found on the KS1 playground by the reception classes entrance. You are very welcome to give them messages to pass to the school office or to class teachers.
  • Please use the following email address to contact Mrs Evans who is our Inclusion Leader and SENDCo: sendco@stgeorgesschool.org.uk
  • Please use the following email address if you would like to contact a member of our pastoral team regarding emotional health and wellbeing: EHWB@stgeorgesschool.org.uk
  • Year group staff can be contacted using year group emails. Please note though that teachers are in class so cannot respond immediately to emails. They will reply as soon as they are able to.
