Year 4 RE

Year 4 have worked together to create something beautiful while revising their knowledge of the creation story shared by Jews and Christians.  (Genesis 1)  They loved responding creatively to the story. Their work was so good that we had to make TWO displays! Take a peek in the Year 4 corridor and 4W to see them.

Life Ready, Work Ready!

Today, we enjoyed our Life Ready, Work Ready workshop where we learned about different careers. We loved playing the ‘Guess My Job’ game with local business people, including a former pupil at St George’s! 😊 The children certainly were inspired to follow their dreams and aspirations 🌟

My child keeps getting angry and lashing out!

Many children express their anger in ways that are hard to cope with, such as verbal outbursts, swearing, throwing things and fighting. You can teach your child to understand and manage their angry emotions in a calmer way.

                                                                  Things you can try:

  1. Stay calm when it happens
  2. . Recognise and explore the anger before it escalates
  3. Teach your child to anticipate and regulate their angry feelings
  4. Role model how to manage anger
  5. Encourage Meaningful Activities & Interests

Art Competition! 🖌✏🖍🖌✏🖍🖌✏🖍

We are opening up the  spring art competition.

We would like you to try to paint in the way that Tom Yendell does. Tom uses his mouth and his feet to hold a pencil and a paint brush so that he can produce his art.

Click to learn about Tom Yendell.

Here is some of the art he has produced.

We would like you to have a go at using your mouth or your feet to hold the pencil and paint brush to produce a piece of art in the style of Tom Yendell.

All entries to Mrs Blair or Mrs Probert by the end of half term. We will announce the winner after half term. Good luck!

3D Shapes ? ?

As mathematicians, we have been looking at 3D shapes and their properties. This week, we have been on two shape hunts to find out how many faces, edges and vertices each 3D shape has.

Brazil and The Amazon Rainforest 🌳

We are really excited about our new Geography topic for this half term – Brazil and The Amazon Rainforest! This week, we have introduced our homework research project – we can’t wait to see what the children produce! 😊

This week, we have been learning about the location of Brazil, and some of the key human and physical features of the country and of the continent of South America.

Christingle Poem

This lovely acrostic poem was written independently by one of our children after we made Christingles this year.

Christ is the Light of the World

Help people who need help

Remember the day that Christ was born

I want to help people by doing a good deed

Support people when they need it

They are different parts of you

I hope Christ protects you on your journey

No ear may hear his coming

Go to church and pray

Lay on the cross was Christ

Everyone celebrates Him at Christmas
