Hello Year 6!

Well done for yet another super week of home learning. We are so proud of you all! 😊

This week is our Book Week, which has a whole-school theme of ‘Dragons’! πŸ‰πŸ‰πŸ‰Each of our English lessons are linked to Book Week, and we hope that you really enjoy these activities. We would really love to see any photos or examples of your work 😊 On Thursday, it is World Book Day. If you would like to, you are very welcome to dress up as a book character! If you don’t fancy dressing up, we would love to see a picture of you with/ reading your favourite book πŸ₯°

In maths, the lessons focus on statistics. As with previous weeks, some of the maths activities are labelled 1 star or 2 star. 1 star activities are more straightforward than 2 star tasks; choose which activity you would like to do depending on how confident you feel.⭐

Book Week! πŸ“šπŸ˜Šβ­

World Book Day - 2021 | Pawprint FamilyΒ  Β  Β  Β  Lot-Art | Quentin Blake (b. 1932), Dragon reading to a group of children

It is World Book Day on Thursday 4th March and to celebrate this, we will be holding our St George’s Book Week with the theme of… Dragons! πŸ‰πŸ₯°πŸ€©

During the week, children in school and at home will be invited to join in lots of fabulous activities to celebrate reading! See your year group’s website page for details throughout next week 😊

Starting from Monday (1st March), there will be a Reading Challenge for each class! There will be a prize for the child in each class who can read the most, and also rewards for other superstar readers! ⭐⭐⭐

On World Book Day itself (Thursday 4th March) we would love children to read their favourite book ❀ If they would also like to dress up as a book character, they are very welcome to do so. We would absolutely love to see any photos of the children either reading their favourite book or dressing up as their favourite characters! 😊
