Cup and balls!

We had an amazing time making our very own cup and balls!

Recycling in year 1💚♻💚♻💚

This week is recycling week. We learnt all about recycling, how and why we do it. We made some fish out of plastic bottles, it was very messy but lots of fun!

Year 1 – Victorian Toys

As historians, we have been learning all about Victorian toys. The children loved making their own ‘cup and ball’ toy which they loved playing with once they had made them.

Year 1 – Five Little Monkeys

Our new unit of work is all about rhyme. We listened carefully to see if we could spot the rhyme in the story ‘Five Little Monkeys.’ Each of the children made their own monkey headband, danced and moved to the rhyme!

Phonics and Early Reading Workshop for Parents

We are holding sessions for this at 2:30pm and 5:30pm on Thursday 26th October.

During these sessions we will be sharing how we teach early reading and spelling in reception and key stage 1. We will also discuss how you can support your child at home with reading.

If you are interested in attending one of these sessions, please sign up through ParentPay.

We are proud of ourselves in 1B! 😍

Well done to the children who received Mentions certificates today in assembly. We are looking forward to see who will be next! 🤩

Year 1 – Computing 💻

Our Year 1 children loved using ‘Purple Mash’ to decorate their own space rockets to help Baby Bear travel to the moon as part of our Jill Murphy author focus.

Computing in 1B

We had to practise logging in to purple mash. We had to find the icon we needed and then complete the 2paint activity. We created a new rocket for Baby Bear in the story Whatever Next!
