Year 1 – Locational and Directional Language 🧭

As geographers, our Year 1 children have been using directional and positional language to direct a teddy bear on a map. Using the words North, East, South and West, the children helped direct their partner from one location to another on a map.

French Breakfast Club

We had a lot of happy children at Breakfast Club before half term. Madame Sohier hosted a delicious French themed breakfast, with help from all the Breakfast Club staff.  The children had the chance to read French magazines and play French games, too. Tres Bien!

Year 1 – Letters to Nepal 💌

As writers, our Year 1 children have been busy writing letters for Mrs Sixsmith to take with her to Nepal to deliver to the children who live there.

Year 1 – Comparing Weights ⚖

As mathematicians, our Year 1 children have been comparing the weights of objects during our measures topic. They loved using the balancing scales to accurately see if one object was heavier or lighter than another.

Year 1 – Length

As mathematicians, we have been learning about length this week. We went on a hunt around the classroom to find things that were shorter and longer than the giant’s footprint.

Year 1 – Estimating On A Number Line

As mathematicians, we have focused on place value this week. We worked in pairs to draw and number line and we had to estimate where to put the numbers that we were given onto it.

All about the love in 1B ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎

Today we made Valentine’s cards.

We had to listen carefully to the instructions and then make our cards.

Well done everyone!
