Year 1 – Clay Tiles ๐Ÿ 

As artists, our Year 1 children have been working hard to make a clay tile in the style of a house. The children used the end of a paintbrush to add texture to their work.

Year 1 – Fractions of Quantities

As mathematicians, this week we have been finding fractions of quantities. We worked in pairs to find the fraction of each quantity to help us navigate a way through the maze from the start to the finish.

Year 1 – Number Bonds to 20

After spending the Autumn term focusing on our number bonds to 10, we are now using these facts in the Spring term to help us know our number bonds to 20.

We have been historians today in 1B ๐Ÿ˜Š

Today we were historians. Our history topic this term is Houses and Homes. We have been looking at cavemen homes and how they showed stories from their lives on the walls of the caves they lived in. We had a go at using sticks to paint cavemen pictures, we painted animals and hunters,ย  it was tricky but good fun!

Just Credit Union ‘Deposit Day’

We are delighted to announce that our first Just Credit Union ‘Deposit Day’ will be held on the morning of Wednesday 31st January. Please bring in the money that you would like to deposit into your child’s account between 8am and 8:30am to the school office reception area.

Artists in 1B โœ๐Ÿ–Œโœ๐Ÿ–Œโœ

Today we were artists. We looked at different textures as part of our buildings topic then we created our own textures. We did a great job using line and colour. Well done everyone! ๐Ÿคฉ

We were scientists in 1B ๐Ÿ˜บ๐Ÿต๐Ÿถ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿธ

Yesterday we were scientists, we recognised the different types of animal, we understood the different features and with a partner, sorted them into the right category. Great team work!
