Year 1 – Mathematics

As mathematicians, our Year 1 children worked collaboratively to match up the numbers 1-20 with the correct spelling of it. We then played ‘Post A Letter’ on the board which you may wish to play at home too…

Number Bonds

It is really important that children have a good understanding of the pairs of numbers that make 10. We have watched the video below in class to help us learn about the pairs of numbers that make 10 and we have also played ‘Hit The Button’ to help us practise our number bonds to 10. Have a go at home too…

Homework!

We have been working hard this week in letters and sounds. Our phonic focus has been ie as in pie, i-e as in time, oa as in go and o-e as in home. We have been doing lots of reading. Literacy homework this week is all about using the sounds we know to read the sentences.
