Y4 Mental Health Day! 🌟

A huge well done to everyone in Year 4 for their amazing work as part of Mental Health Day. The children all came dressed to school in yellow to celebrate ‘Hello Yellow’ and produced fantastic positive affirmations to display in our classrooms. 😊💛⭐

Y4 Forest Schools! 🌲

What a lovely end to 4H’s Forest School sessions! 😊🌟

Everyone enjoyed their marshmallows and hot chocolates sitting around a fire.

Year 3.4 Boys’ Football

Our Year 3.4 boys’ football team played in the Shropshire Schools County Cup against Grange Park on Tuesday night. The team won their game and have progressed to the next round of the competition.

Year 4 PSHEE Pedestrian Training

4H completed their pedestrian training this week. The day includes classroom learning sessions and a short walk outside.  Our instructor Diane was really impressed with the children’s behaviour and attitude to learning.  They all passed with flying colours! We are sure that 4P and 4W will be just as successful, when they take part later in the week.

Blue Peter Book Club

Blue Peter have launched a new Book Club which we are very excited to promote in school!

Each month Blue Peter will put together a list of 6 amazing books as recommended reads. We will provide copies of these books, which the children can sign out and borrow. These will be stored in the main entrance of the school and can be borrowed for a maximum of 1 week.

By sharing a book review after you have read the book, the children can earn the brand –new Blue Peter Book Badge, designed by Sir Quentin Blake. To earn your badge, the children will need to fill in the Book Badge Application Form which will ask them questions the book they have read. The form can be accessed from the Blue Peter website. It can be uploaded online or sent by post.

Y4 Forest Schools! 🌲😊

A huge well done to the children in 4H for a fantastic afternoon in the forest! 🌟

We had so much fun tree climbing, den building and making woodland animals using clay! 🦔💕

A walk around St George’s

As part of our Local History week, we walked around the local area and discussed some of the key places of our community. On our journey we visited the Care home, Church, St George’s institute and the Gower.

A huge well done to all of the children who displayed the school values excellently throughout our walk.

Y4 Science! 😎

As part of our Science topic looking at ‘States of Matter‘, we investigated non-Newtonian fluids. We mixed cornflour and water to make a ‘slime’ which behaves like a liquid until it is put under pressure, then it becomes a solid.

We had lots of fun in our groups! 😊

Y4 George’s Marvellous Medicine! 📚✏

Our author focus in Literacy is Roald Dahl.  📚📝

In today’s lesson, we made our very own marvellous  medicines! We chose different ingredients that we wanted to use and thought of exciting names and descriptions for each of them. We remembered to include rhyme, alliteration and onomatopoeia to make our descriptions interesting, just like Roald Dahl does! ⭐🌟✨
