Year 4 Lichfield Cathedral Visit

Year 4 visited Lichfield cathedral yesterday and were in absolute awe of the incredible architecture. During the day, the children took part in various activities including recreating a story from the Bible through the means of art and a guided tour of the cathedral. The children were amazed to see all the intricate detail around the cathedral and were shocked to find out there were 766 heads within the structure.

Year 4 Trip to Lichfield Cathedral on Monday 3rd June

Dear Parents/Carers,

On Monday 3rd June (which is the first day back after half term) Year 4 will be attending the Inspire workshops at Lichfield Cathedral. The children take part in a series of surprise activities, including a tour of the historic cathedral. It supports our RE topic ‘Sacred Places’, as well as promoting personal, moral, social and spiritual development.  This is our biggest trip for the year and is always an exciting day! If you have not yet consented, please can you do so.

As Mrs Sixsmith has kindly agreed that school can help pay for the transport, the cost of this visit is £10 per child.  The children will need to bring a packed lunch from home, a drink (not fizzy pop) and wear their school uniform, including a jumper as the Cathedral can be chilly inside, even on hot days. (Please note that as we are leaving early, the school kitchen are unable to prepare packed lunches for the trip.)

We will be leaving school at 8.45 so please can children arrive at school promptly for 8.30am.  We will return to school at  4.00pm. Please drop off and collect your children from their usual door. (Should we experience any traffic delays on the day, we will contact you via school messaging systems.)

If you have any questions about the day, feel free to ask any of the Year 4 Team.

Best wishes,

Mrs Holt, Miss Harris and Mr Perry

Year 4 RE A special visitor from Telford Central Mosque

Year 4 were lucky to meet Mrs Bhamji on Monday who taught us all about the 5 Pillars of Islam.  The children demonstrated our school values of respect, kindness and happiness throughout the talk. Well done, everyone!

TIMES TABLES SUPERSTARS! Year 4 Maths

Congratulations to all of Year 4 who have been working hard on their times tables this morning.  You have all made so much progress and should feel very proud of yourselves. We are certainly proud of you all!  A special congratulations to the children who are SO FAST that they have beaten Mrs Holt in a challenge today!

Year 4 World Art Day

We have been artists and celebrated World Art Day this week. All the children took part in a drawing assembly and completed their artwork in class afterwards.

World Art Day

On Monday 15th April it was World Art Day. To celebrate this we had a special assembly for both KS1 and KS2 where we learnt that World Art Day is on Leonardo Da Vinci’s birthday. During the Assembly, every child had a piece of paper and a pencil and we drew our own Zentangles. We looked at different lines that can be used and different ways to use them. The children really enjoyed the assembly and drew some beautiful Zentangles.
