Just Credit Union ‘Deposit Day’

We are delighted to announce that our first Just Credit Union ‘Deposit Day’ will be held on the morning of Wednesday 31st January. Please bring in the money that you would like to deposit into your child’s account between 8am and 8:30am to the school office reception area.

Handwriting in Year 6 😊

The children in Year 6 always work hard to keep their handwriting neat, but this week they have been putting in that extra special bit of effort to present their work as beautifully as possible!  Here are the winners of our Handwriting Competition (for the most improved handwriting, and for the most consistently neat handwriting)  along with the winning entries of the presentation of the poem ‘A Trillion Tropical Leaves’ which is about the Amazon Rainforest. 🌟🌟🌟

St George’s C of E Primary School Young Saver Scheme 👛

Just Credit Union Parent Letter

With the support of the ‘Just Credit Union’, we are excited to announce the launch of our new ‘St George’s C of E Primary School Young Saver Scheme.’

This evening, your child should have brought home a double-sided letter explaining everything that you need to know. Please speak to your child’s class teacher tomorrow if this is not the case.

Please find a copy of the letter above, but you will need access to a printer if you are wanting to complete an application form.

We hope that our exciting new initiative will be of interest to your child.

WW2 Artefacts in Year 6

Today, the children in Year 6 were fascinated to see some real-life artefacts from World War Two. They included photos, a ration book, a medal, a soldier’s bible and an account from a Japanese prisoner of war camp. The resources had belonged to the grandfather of one of our local members of the community who served as a soldier during WW2. It was wonderful to be able to see real-life copies of things that we have been learning about. We would like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Grice (whose grandfather they belonged to) for sharing these wonderful resources with us!

Year 6 Christmas Performance 🎄

A huge well done to all of the children in Year 6 for their wonderful Christmas performance in church this week. We were so impressed by all of your singing, poetry, reading and instrumental skills 👏👏 Great effort everybody- you made us very proud! ❤

Christmas Writing Competition 🎄🎅🎄

Today, we announced the winners of our Christmas writing competition. We had some absolutely fantastic entries – poems, stories, diaries and even some Christmas jokes! It was incredibly difficult to choose our winners and runners up… but we managed, and here are pictures of our winners from years 3, 4, 5 and 6 😊

We would like to say a huge well done to each and every one of the children who took part in our competition. You are all super stars! ⭐👏👏👏

Performance Poetry in Year 6 🎭

As part of our Performance Poetry topic in English, we have been studying the traditional poem ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’ by Clement Clarke Moore.

The children have done an excellent job of learning and performing the poem. We have been especially impressed by how well they have worked as a team to create their performance, which involves every single member of our year group 😊

Here are some pictures showing all stages of our project, from reading and analysing the poem, to learning in small groups, to performing with 75 children altogether! 🥰
