R.E. – Spirituality in Year 6

Our current topic in R.E. is ‘Expressing Spirituality Through the Arts’.Β The children in Year 6 have enjoyed our discussions surrounding spirituality and what this means to themselves and others. This week, they explored how Christians use music to express themselves spiritually, and created artwork to reflect this.

World Art Day

On Monday 15th April it was World Art Day. To celebrate this we had a special assembly for both KS1 and KS2 where we learnt that World Art Day is on Leonardo Da Vinci’s birthday. During the Assembly, every child had a piece of paper and a pencil and we drew our own Zentangles. We looked at different lines that can be used and different ways to use them. The children really enjoyed the assembly and drew some beautiful Zentangles.

Well Done – Coundon Primary School

We are so thrilled with all of the Year 6 children this week for their fantastic efforts with their Mock SATs this week! They have approached their tests with a brilliant attitude; every single one of the children should be very proud of themselves!

Well done! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

French Breakfast Club

We had a lot of happy children at Breakfast Club before half term. Madame Sohier hosted a delicious French themed breakfast, with help from all the Breakfast Club staff.Β  The children had the chance to read French magazines and play French games, too. Tres Bien!

World Book Day in Year 6! πŸ“š

We had a wonderful time celebrating all things reading for World Book Day today! We’re sure that you’ll agree that our Year 6 children did a fabulous job of getting involved in the joy of reading! 😊

World Book Day! πŸ“šπŸ‘ΈπŸ€΄πŸ°

Year 2 had a wonderful day celebrating World Book Day. They did lots of activities centered around their author, ‘Mini Grey,’ and her books. These activities included writing the next chapter of ‘Traction Man is Here,’ acting out the circus scene from ‘Biscuit Bear,’ and writing a persuasive letter advocating for planting more trees, inspired by the book ‘The Last Wolf.’

As part of the day’s events, Year 2 also took part in some buddy reading with Year 6 students. They had a great time sharing stories with their older classmates!
