Mini First Aid

This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Kelli from Shropshire Mini First Aid to Year 6, where we learned crucial life-saving skills such as CPR, the recovery position and how to deal with choking. Well done to the children for showing an incredibly responsible attitude and thank you to Kelli for these great sessions! 😊

Year 6 Enterprise Day! ?

What a sensational morning we have had today! All of our enterprise stalls were a resounding success, with the children showcasing their entrepreneurial skills and showing fantastic teamwork and organisational skills. Their customers, who came from the rest of KS2, had a tremendous time visiting the stalls. The success of the businesses led to an impressive overall takings of just under £400!

Well done to all of the children involved! ??? Also, a huge thank you to the parents and carers for their fabulous support, as ever, with this. ?

Thank you to Just Credit Union for supporting our endeavour, and to Steve and Holly from Just Credit Union for their time and input with the project. We will be featuring on Radio Shropshire on Friday 9th June during the Breakfast Show! We look forward to welcoming Steve back to school on Friday to announce the winners who have made the most profit.

Spelling Bee ?

Today was our Year 6 Spelling Bee! What a fantastic effort by everyone who took part! ???  All of the children participated so well and we are very proud of all of you. Also, a big well done to the rest of the Year 6 children who were a brilliantly supportive audience! ?

Here were our winners who came in 1st, 2nd and 3rd places! Well done! ⭐

Fieldwork Week

It is fieldwork week in school.

Fieldwork is research or study that happens in the real world. We can observe and get data about people, the natural environment and cultures.

This year the theme is ‘Environment’. Everything physical on Earth is part of an environment. This can include living and non-living things.

People can make changes to the environment. Some can be good changes. Some might be harmful to living things.

Things to think about:

What is your favourite part of the school grounds?

What is your favourite part of around your home?

Is it a good environment for wildlife? If so / not why?

Is there much litter or pollution?

The children will be doing fieldwork activities this week.

Dragon’s Den – Enterprise Project!

Yesterday, the children in Year 6 were very excited to pitch their Enterprise Stall ideas to Steve and Amy from Telford and Wrekin’s Just Credit Union. All of the children did a fantastic job of explaining their business ideas, and explaining how they were planning to make a profit! We can’t wait until we see their stalls in action on our Enterprise Day on 7th June! 😊
