Year 3 On The Move! ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Today, we all walked around St. Georges. We had a challenge to tick off different key buildings as we were going.

When we returned to school, we used Google Earth to highlight the route we walked. We also sketched and plotted where the different key buildings were.

Y5 Local History- St George’s Walk

Thursday afternoon we went for a walk around St George’s to find some of the local historical buildings we had been learning about.

St George’s History Week

This week we have been learning all about the history of St Georges. We had a guest speaker – Mrs Smith come in to tell us all about St Georges over the years. Today, we went for a walk all around St Georges to look at the old buildings and what they used to be.

Y4 Forest Schools! ๐ŸŒฒ๐Ÿ˜Š

A huge well done to the children in 4H for a fantastic afternoon in the forest! ๐ŸŒŸ

We had so much fun tree climbing, den building and making woodland animals using clay! ๐Ÿฆ”๐Ÿ’•

Year 6 Take a Walk Through the History of St George’s ๐Ÿ˜Š

Yesterday, we were very fortunate to have a tour of the local area from Stephen Handley, a local parish member. He showed us some of the oldest buildings in St George’s, and shared some fascinating facts about how the area has changed through history. We were very surprised to learn that before our school was built, a horse racing course used to run through where St George’s Primary School now stands! Well done to all of the Year 6 children for displaying an excellent attitude (as usual!) ๐Ÿ˜Š

Our St. Georges memories

Today, we were lucky enough to have Mr Handley come in to school. He told us all about what St. Georges was like when he was growing up. He also told us about his happy memories to do with St. Georges.

We then wrote our own special memories about both St. Georges and St. George’s Primary School.

Whatever Next! ๐Ÿป

In year 1 we are doing an author study all about Jill Murphy. Today we looked at the different settings in the story, Whatever Next! We drew and painted one of the settings.

Year 2 Author Study

As part of our Literacy lessons, we have been focussing on the author Anthony Browne. We have read several of his books and produced some fantastic writing based on them. Our work has been put on display for everyone to see!

Writing

To help build our muscles for writing, we have been busy doing dough disco, drawing pictures and using scarves and then pens to make patterns. This week we have been drawing wiggly lines.

Harvest Thanks!

5 trollies filled with Harvest donations handed to Telford Crisis Support today. Mrs Jervis said they were very grateful for the generosity shown by our school community. Thank you everyone. ๐Ÿ’š

Jammy Dodger Harvest Festivals!

We have enjoyed two Harvest Festivals in Church this week. We are so incredibly proud of the childrenโ€™s behaviour! They had written their own Harvest prayers, shared fantastic art work and we loved hearing them sing their hearts out. We think they also enjoyed their Harvest Jammy Dodgers. ๐Ÿ˜€ Thanks to parents and carers who came along to celebrate with us! ๐Ÿ’š

Harvest Prayer

Dear God,

Thank you for the food you have given us to eat, the fruits, the vegetables and all the sweet treats,

But as it is Harvest, we start to prepare for all sorts of things here and there,

So as we go to Church to celebrate what you have done, we say a great big ‘thank you’, one by one!

Amen
